Plus One® (patent pending) woofer cones - Both the GTO6583C's midrange speaker and midwoofer have a cone with more surface area than that found on competing models of the same size. Computer-optimized voice-matched passive crossover - The GTO6583C features an outboard crossover that has been voice-matched to ensure optimum transistion from the midwoofer to the midrange speaker and to the tweeter. 2-Ohm impedance - Extracts all the power from amplifiers that are designed to increase their power when driving two ohms. Get all of the amplifier power possible with GTO Series speakers. My-Ti™ (Mylar®/titanium composite) tweeters - Stiff and light, and extremely efficient, the new JBL® My-Ti tweeters deliver the high-frequency extension of titanium domes and the damping of composite diaphragms. These are not commonly used w-domes, but full edge-driven domes like those found in higher quality home audio speakers. The benefits are increased power handling, reduced distortion and increased efficiency. This technology also allows for better integration with the mid/woofer. I-Mount™ (patent no. 5,859,917) tweeter-mounting system - This well-thought-out system allows easy and versatile installation of the tweeter in the GTO6508C component system. This component system also features a proprietary new Starfish™ tweeter mount, which allows the tweeter to be installed in a variety of factory locations.
